Tanzy

Tanzy is one of the dogs that were caught from behind the market and sterilized on July 31, 2016. All the other dogs were in really good condition. But Tanzy had some really bad skin conditions and her skin was raw and bleeding in many patches all over her body. She was also in heat and had to be separated from the males during her recovery.
Her skin took a good while to heal, and we really couldn’t have put her back behind the market like this, so we moved her up to the rescue. The skin on her tail was badly damaged, and the tip was constantly open and bleeding as she wagged it non-stop. After a couple of weeks of daily fresh bleeding, our vets advised us to amputate the tail as it wouldn’t heal. So Tanzy now sports a cute little stub of a tail which she still manages to wag like crazy!
She is a darling, friendly young dog, probably about a year and a half old. She is bouncy and quick and a lot of fun. She runs like a rabbit off leash, loves to cuddle, and is a fast and motivated learner when it comes to offering behaviours for treats. Tanzy  gets along well with the other dogs (although puppies are not her favourite things). She has great basic obedience, walks well on a leash, and her off leash recall is great. She likes kids and people in general. She would do best in a home without cats, as she does like to chase.

We are a small organization dedicated to helping dogs and cats in Antigua. We sterilize, rehabilite and find homes, and work with other rescue groups.
