Griffin

Griffin and his four siblings hail from the town of San Juan del Obispo, just south of Antigua. Their mother lives with several other dogs on a rented property. The caretakers of the property told rescuer Francesca that the dogs were left by previous tenants. The dogs were all in extremely poor condition when Francesca began helping the family. All the adults have now been spayed, vaccinated, and wormed. Francesca brings the family dog food, as well.

We took this litter as they were very young and not yet fearful of people. Additionally, two of the puppies had severe eye problems, and it seemed likely that they would each lose at least one eye.

We brought Griffin in at about 6 weeks of age. He was one of the pups with a severe eye issue. His eye had to be temporarily sutured shut and eye drops applied every two hours. He has had to wear a miniature cone to prevent him from scratching the eye. The eye healed well, and although there is a slight scarring on his cornea, he has most of his sight in it.  He has been fostered with his brother Watson and another foster pup, Noah. He has been socialized well, and is learning basic behaviors with treats and positive reinforcement. He is a sweet, friendly and affectionate puppy.

Griffin is neutered, finished his puppy series of vaccines, and ready for a family of his own.
