Blanca Estrella, her sisters Mapache, Rosalina, and two other siblings were born in the market in Antigua. Their mother tried to keep them safe and fed, but by the time they were two weeks old, two of the pups had been taken by the indigent people living in the market and sold for pennies. We do not know what became of the little puppies who were taken.
Good samaritans brought the mother (who was suffering from a terrible skin condition) and the three remaining puppies in to their home and fostered the family. Mama dog is now healthy and will be available for adoption soon, too.
We made sure that the puppies were dewormed and vaccinated on schedule. We have had many puppy socials with these beautiful pups, and all three are sweet, friendly and outgoing. They love people and have been socialised with children, other dogs and puppies, and many different people. They are smart and already learning basic obedience behaviours like “sit”, “down” and “target”.
Although their mama is a medium sized dog, we think that Blanca Estrella will be a big dog. She will also have long hair.
