Mike was brought to us on July 5, 2010 by a young boy who said he was inside his school, being teased and mistreated by the students. He reported that the students were dressing the pup up, painting him, and that a group of students began to kick the dog and pull at him. He told us that the teachers were standing around watching and not bothering to intervene. Finally, he got permission from the director to take the dog outside. He brought the dog to us at Vet Pro as he didn’t know what else to do with it.
The pup was very frightened and timid, but otherwise in good shape physically. The boy named him Micro as he was in the science lab. We changed it to Mike or Mikey. Mikey is a golden colored, mid sized mixed breed. We think he is probably a lab mixed with a little chow-he has some black spots on his tongue, and has a dense, thick coat. He has gorgeous eyes ringed in black. He was about 6 or 7 months old on intake.
Mike is a playful, but very easygoing, fun dog. He LOVES to play with other dogs, and is always ready for a game, but he is not pushy with other dogs or people. He has a very sweet nature, and is very affectionate with people. He was a chewer and should be crated or put in a puppy-proof room when he can’t be supervised until he is adjusted to his new home. He is mellow and relaxes well, but will happily do any activity you want. He has no injuries or health issues. He loves people in general, is great with kids. He is very soft mouthed and gentle. He really has NO issues that we have noted-this is a great dog!
