Chance arrived with us as a “foster” from a veterinarian we don’t work with. He had a fractured femur that had already been splinted, and we thought we were signing up for a simple recovery. Unfortunately, the splint was incorrectly applied, and Chance had to undergo a surgery to pin his femur. He also had a crushed tail that had not been noticed, so that had to be amputated, as well. It took several tries to get the tail healed, as it was infected and Chance is a very bendy, Houdini-like kind of pup. So three amputations later, he now sports a racing model stump tail, which he still manages to wag without stopping.
The doctor has never checked on his status or offered to take him back from us, so we have assumed all the necessary medical costs to correctly repair his leg and tail, He was likely struck by a car.
Chance has a hitch in his giddy-up and does walk with a limp, but this does not slow him down in the least. He keeps up with all his doggie friends and happily jumps in and out of the car. He is fully healed, neutered, up to date on shots, worming, etc.He is perfectly house trained and has not made a single mistake in his foster home, nor has he chewed or destroyed anything. He is starting his basic training and doing very well.
Chance is about 9 or 10 months old and is a very affectionate, cuddly pup. He loves to be right by your side, and he relaxes and settles nicely in the house once he gets used to the routine. He loves other dogs and would play all day long if he could. He lives with a cat and is calm and respectful of it. He does not chase.
We have loved watching this beautiful young dog blossom and he is ready for a loving home. Please contact us for more details about Chance, or fill out an application form for him here:
