Blackbird

Blackbird is Little Bird’s sister. Both dogs were living on the street, and not doing very well. We broughtLittle Bird in a while back to rehabilitate her as she was too malnourished to sterilize. She got lucky and was adopted locally to a wonderful home. Blackbird was being fed by a very lovely gentleman in San Pedro las Huertas. The man feeds quite a few street dogs. She was doing better than her sister, and when she was healthy enough, we brought her in to be spayed.

During the examination under sedation, our vet discovered that Blackbird had a large, infected looking wound on the inside of her cheek. She has been treated with Convenia and we hope that this open sore begins to heal.

Blackbird is recovering at the center and we really hope to be able to find a loving home for this sweet girl once she is healthy and recovered.

Blackbird is about 10 or 11 months old. She is small, weighing in at about 20 lbs. She has been spayed and vaccinated. She will be ready for adoption soon.

We are a small organization dedicated to helping dogs and cats in Antigua. We sterilize, rehabilite and find homes, and work with other rescue groups.
