Maggie is a sweet, pretty Whippet mix found wandering on the streets of San Juan del Obisbo by friends Tessa and Gerson. SHe had been abandoned by her owners, left tied and locked inside an empty house. She managed to escape and was living nearby, sleeping in the gutter, begging food from anyone who would toss her something.
She was about 7 months old when she arrived with us, smart, pretty, and extremely affectionate. Maggie suffered from anxiety and we have worked extensively with her to try to help her react more calmly to people coming and going.
She is currently being fostered by friends Erin and Gabriel with their rescue Border Collie mix Lucy. Maggie has blossomed in a home environment, and is doing fabulously well. She is far less anxious now that she is not competing for attention with so many dogs. She is calm and relaxed in the home, beautifully crate trained, and has all her basic obedience behaviours. She plays well with her doggie pal, and her foster family says she is just a delight.
Maggie is zippy and high energy outside and on walks. She runs like the wind, and loves to play tug and fetch. In the house she is quite calm and chill; very easy to live with.
Maggie now walks happily in town, is great with kids, adults and all her myriad admirers. She is spayed, up to date on her shots, and healthy, house trained and completely ready for a furever family of her own. She is about one year old.
