Baxter came to us via Tessa and Gerson, who rescued him in the summer. They spotted him limping along with a huge open gash along his hips. This was a machete wound-someone had chopped him open with one!
They took him to the vet who cleaned and stitched the layers of severed muscle and skin. He healed beautifully and settled in as one of their many, many dogs.
We brought this gorgeous guy in to the rescue in early February. Baxter is a dream dog. He is gorgeous, with the looks of a Flat Coated Retriever. He is sweet, easy going and very affectionate to people. He is learning to play and gets along with all the dogs at the rescue. He hasn’t met a person he doesn’t like.
Baxter has been living in a foster home with volunteers Jon and Neil, and he is getting lots and lots of attention and training. He is doing absolutely fabulously with his basic obedience and he crates well. Baxter now walks happily and confidently on leash in about 95% of situations. He is easy going, and so easy to have in the house. He is about two years old, neutered and up to date on shots.
